The foundation provides innovative solutions to problems that concern environmental protection. myclimate is one of the leading providers of voluntary measures aimed at offsetting emissions.

It seems impossible to imagine our lives today without air travel. Lufthansa is willing to accept the responsibility to continue to meet its passengers’ need for mobility in the future and to do so in a manner that is environmentally responsible. This is reflected in its careful use of natural resources, as well as in its support for climate research. The primary objective remains to reduce kerosene consumption and the related CO2 emissions. Since 1991, Lufthansa has increased its CO2 efficiency by almost 30 per cent. Lufthansa shall continue to add to the successes on its positive environmental record by implementing the greatest ever fleet modernization programme in the company’s history, with an investment volume of around 16 billion euros (list price), as well as with numerous other measures aimed at reducing emissions in its operations.

The non-profit foundation, myclimate, meets the high quality standards set by Lufthansa and ensures transparency in the costs. In cooperation with the airline, myclimate provides Lufthansa passengers with an opportunity to make a voluntary contribution to offsetting CO2 emissions.
